Mark William Calaway debuted at Survivor Series 1990 and did not stop until 2020. Thirty years. Seven world championship reigns. He played a supernatural undertaker, a biker, a satanic high priest — and every character was completely, utterly convincing. No performer in wrestling history reinvented themselves more successfully while remaining at the absolute top of the industry.

1990–1998
The Deadman
The slow-walking supernatural undertaker managed by Paul Bearer. Urn in hand, lightning at his command, opponents literally buried under the ring. An iconic character that should not have worked for a decade — and somehow worked for three.
1999–2003
The Ministry / American Badass
The Ministry of Darkness era — a satanic cult leader with crucifixes and darkness. Then the heel turn became the biker American Badass, riding to the ring on a Harley to Kid Rock, playing the character straight. Both worked perfectly.
2004–2013
The Phenom Returns
The return of the Deadman persona — more menacing than ever. This era produced the legendary WrestleMania streak matches against Edge, Batista, CM Punk, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels. Each WrestleMania match became an event within the event.
2013–2020
The Final Years
The Streak ended at WrestleMania XXX against Brock Lesnar. The retirement ceremony at Survivor Series 2020 — the mask, the hat, the coat left in the ring — was one of the most emotional moments in wrestling history. A 30-year farewell done perfectly.
The WrestleMania Streak
From WrestleMania VII (1991) to WrestleMania XXX (2014), The Undertaker went 21-0 at WrestleMania. No sports record in wrestling history came close to its prestige. Opponents defeated during the streak: Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Giant Gonzalez, King Kong Bundy, Diesel, Sycho Sid, Kane, Big Boss Man, Triple H (three times), Ric Flair, Big Show and A-Train, Kane (again), Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Batista (twice), Edge, Shawn Michaels (twice), CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan.
