Modern wrestling critique
I've watched matches and I'm going, why did they do that? They do some good stuff, but sometimes it's out of place. I've seen matches, it's embarrassing. I wouldn't even put that in front of kids; they'd be laughing thinking they're chimpanzees or something.
Scripted promos
A lot of guys go on TV and they got a script. Talk us into why your fight is important. It's another lost art. I can't get into your skin. I can't get into you. So let me be me.
Modern wrestling style
They call it wrestling, but nobody takes a hold. I've watched that sometimes and I'm going, well, that's wrestling. You know, it's okay to kick, punch, and sometimes chairs, whatever, but that's a big plus when you're wrestling somebody that's in the business and they keep you in the ring 40, 50 minutes.
WWF career
I was at the end of my career. I was 45 years old and I just went up there [WWF] to make some money. I told Vince one day, I said, 'Man, I can't dance, sing, or rock and roll. I fucking wrestled.'
In-ring psychology
Ric Flair never complained, you know. And, yeah, it was enjoyable. There's nothing like having a good wrestling match and never talking. I never talk in the ring. Ever. That was my rule.
Randy Orton
I heard Randy Orton does the Garvin Stomp. I take it as an honor. It's a compliment. When somebody copies you, which is fine. And he does it good, I hear.
The Garvin Stomp origin
The Garvin Stomp came from Malenko, the great Malenko. He used to do it a long time ago. It's like the one-man gang; there was a one-man gang in the 50s and that's where I got it.
Career path
If I would have started flying planes before I started wrestling, I would have never wrestled.
