From the moment he and his brother Matt started wrestling backyard matches in Cameron, North Carolina, to the nights he stood at the top of a 20-foot ladder while 80,000 people held their breath — Jeff Hardy was always going to either become a legend or destroy himself trying. He did both, survived both, and returned for more. The Swanton Bomb from impossible heights. The painted face, the arm-sleeves, the Peroxide entrance. An original who cannot be replicated.

Hardy Boyz — Tag Team Royalty
The Hardy Boyz became WWE's most exciting act almost immediately. Their ladder match innovations alongside the Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian at WrestleMania X-Seven stands as one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history. Jeff's high spots — Swanton Bombs from impossible heights, body splashes off ladders — set the template for highspot wrestling that still echoes today.
2006–2012
Singles Star — WWE Champion
After returning from a brief hiatus, Hardy evolved into a genuine top-of-card singles star. His feud with CM Punk in 2009 was one of the most narratively rich stories WWE had told in years — the free-spirited, body-painted Hardy against the Straight Edge Society's Punk. Hardy won his second WWE Championship in 2009. His match with Edge in a Ladder match at WrestleMania XVII remains iconic.
2012–Present
TNA, AEW and the Resurrection
Hardy's road through TNA/Impact Wrestling saw multiple championship reigns and some of his most creative work — the "Broken" Matt Hardy storyline extended the Hardy Boyz legacy in genuinely inventive ways. His AEW tenure kept him connected to the sport's biggest stages. The Charismatic Enigma remains a live wire capable of delivering magic whenever circumstances align.
Defining Matches
TLC — WrestleMania X-Seven 2001
The TLC match at WrestleMania X-Seven featuring Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz, and E&C is widely considered the greatest tag team match in wrestling history. Jeff's Swanton Bomb from the top of a 20-foot ladder onto Bubba Ray Dudley through a table became an instant image that defined an era. Three teams pushing each other to physical extremes no one had seen before.
vs CM Punk — SummerSlam 2009
The feud with CM Punk was Jeff Hardy's finest character work as a singles performer. Punk's Straight Edge preachiness against Hardy's free-spirit philosophy created genuine heat and genuine investment. Their TLC match at SummerSlam 2009 ended Hardy's WWE career chapter on a high — one of the most complete TLC matches ever constructed.
vs Edge — Ladder Match WrestleMania XVII
Hardy versus Edge in a singles Ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XVII saw both men operating at peak athleticism. The match demonstrated Hardy's ability to carry a singles contest to five-star territory and cemented his reputation as the best highspot performer of his generation.
Hardy Boyz Reunion — WrestleMania 33
The surprise return of the Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 33 to win the Raw Tag Team Championships in a ladder match against Cesaro & Sheamus and Enzo & Cass produced one of the loudest crowd reactions in WrestleMania history. A moment no one saw coming, perfectly timed, with the Hardys at full peak nostalgia value. Jeff's Swanton from the top of the ladder sealed it.
