Pull Up a Barstool and Let's Talk Family Drama
Pull up a barstool, flag down the server for another basket of garlic fries, and let's talk about the never-ending drama of the Samoan family tree. Just when you thought the Bloodline story had run out of road, they pull us right back in.
We have Roman Reigns and the Usos back together, and now Jacob Fatu is officially in the fold after bending the knee following his loss at Clash in Italy 2026. Naturally, the internet is already in a state of absolute meltdown over what this means for SummerSlam.
The online wrestling community is split into three distinct camps. On one side, enthusiasts are salivating at the return of the original faction.
They see the reunion of Roman, Jimmy, and Jey as a triumphant return to form. Adding Jacob Fatu to the mix as the ultimate enforcer is like giving a chainsaw to a horror movie villain.
Then you have the skeptics. They argue that reuniting the Usos and Roman resets the board, undoing all of Jey Uso's character growth during his singles run.
They worry Jey will be dragged back into the tag division or become a secondary player under Roman's shadow again. To them, this storyline is like the Fast & Furious franchise: it should have ended years ago, but now they are flying cars into space.
Finally, we have the contrarians backing Solo Sikoa's SmackDown rebellion. They believe Solo refusing to fall back in line and instead trying to recruit his own crew is a great twist.
It is like a teenager locking themselves in their room and blasting heavy metal because their parents told them to do the dishes.
The Jey Uso Conundrum: World Title or Faction Duty?
Let's focus on Jey Uso because his booking has fans tearing their hair out. On the June 29 Monday Night Raw, Jey announced he was heading to SmackDown to challenge Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Their history is legendary, and a SummerSlam title match would have been electric.
It makes sense why fans want to see it, especially since Sami's championship victory sent such a great message to the locker room. But then WWE went and put Jey in a match against Cody Rhodes on the July 3 episode of SmackDown, and Jey lost.
That loss has set off a bomb in the forums. A lot of fans are furious, arguing that WWE is wasting Jey's momentum just to keep him locked into the Bloodline orbit.
They feel that after losing the King of the Ring finals to Oba Femi at the King of the Ring tournament finals, Jey needed a big win. Instead, he got pinned by Cody, and now his title aspirations look dead in the water.
But the enthusiasts believe Jey's loss is setting up a power struggle with Jacob Fatu. Since Fatu joined in early June, Jey has been trying to boss him around, but Fatu refuses to take orders from anyone except Roman Reigns as his "Tribal Chief."
This has created a ton of friction within the reformed group. Some fans are speculating that we might get Jey Uso versus Jacob Fatu at SummerSlam to determine the actual second-in-command of the Bloodline.
Personally, I think the skeptics have a point here. Having Jey lose to Cody right after the King of the Ring tournament makes him look weak. It completely ruins the aura of invincibility.
That said, a singles match between Jey and Fatu at SummerSlam would be an absolute battle. Fatu is a physical freak who moves like a cruiserweight, and Jey is one of the most popular babyfaces in the company.
Street Profits and the Tag Team Division Shakeup
While the family drama dominates the spotlight, the tag team division is heating up. On the June 22 Raw, the Street Profits defeated Austin Theory and Bron Breakker to win the World Tag Team Championships. It was a massive win for Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, who have been desperate for a major run.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins winning the tag titles is like your favorite indie band finally getting a hit single on the radio. Now, fans are looking at the board and wondering who can challenge them at SummerSlam, and the Usos are the obvious choice.
There is a lot of history here. The Usos and the Street Profits had an absolute classic back at SummerSlam 2022. A rematch in 2026 for the new gold would give the division the spotlight it deserves, letting Ford and Dawkins prove themselves against the gold standard.
However, the contrarians note the Usos have bigger fish to fry. Solo Sikoa has been trying to recruit Royce Keys on SmackDown to go to war against Roman's faction. Solo even tried to recruit LA Knight on the June 26 SmackDown, but Knight declined.
Still, Knight did get an assist from Solo to defeat Jimmy Uso on the June 22 Raw. This has led to speculation about a massive tag match at SummerSlam: the Usos versus Solo Sikoa and LA Knight.
This is where the booking gets a bit messy. LA Knight has history with the Bloodline, since Jacob Fatu beat him at WrestleMania 41 to win the United States Championship.
So Knight wanting revenge makes sense, but teaming him with Solo Sikoa is like pairing Deadpool with Wolverine; they are just going to spend the whole match trying to stab each other.
The Verdict: Which Direction Has the Most Juice?
So, where should WWE go with all of this? The forums are full of wild ideas. Roman Reigns is already locked into a massive match against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, and that match needs a clean runway.
Here are the four potential match paths for the rest of the Bloodline that the fans are arguing about. Each one has its own set of risks and rewards:
- The Usos challenging the Street Profits for the World Tag Team Championships.
- Jacob Fatu facing Solo Sikoa in a grudge match.
- Jey Uso taking on Jacob Fatu to decide who is the second-in-command under Roman.
- The Usos teaming with Jacob Fatu to face Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, and a returning Drew McIntyre.
A six-man tag match featuring Jacob Fatu and the Usos taking on Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, and a returning Drew McIntyre would assemble a group of enemies to take down the faction. It would keep the family drama contained in one big, chaotic match, leaving Roman and Rollins free to tear the house down.
On the other hand, a singles match between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa has emotional weight. Having the two enforcers clash would be incredibly physical and allow Solo to establish himself outside of Roman's shadow. That is the match WWE should book.
In the end, WWE has a lot of options, but they need to be careful. The Bloodline story has been the lifeblood of the company for years, but it is easy to overplay your hand.
If they just go back to the same old patterns, the fans will start to turn. They need to keep pushing new stars like Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa to the forefront, rather than just relying on the old guard.
