On January 23, 1984, Hulk Hogan defeated the Iron Sheik to win the WWF Championship at Madison Square Garden. Hulkamania was born. It would run wild for the next decade and transform wrestling into a mainstream spectacle.

Hollywood Hogan & the nWo
In 1996, Hulk Hogan turned heel at Bash at the Beach, joining Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to form the nWo. Hollywood Hogan became the most compelling villain in wrestling — and WCW's ratings dominated for years.

Legacy as Wrestling's Biggest Icon
Hulk Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice — once as himself in 2005, and once as a member of the nWo in 2020. No wrestler in history has had more mainstream cultural impact.
