The Blue Brand's Legacy
WWE SmackDown first aired in April 1999 as a weekly broadcast named after Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's signature catchphrase. Over the decades it has grown from a companion show into an equal co-flagship alongside Raw, attracting talent, storylines and championships that stand on their own merits. The show's move to Fox in 2019 marked a new era of mainstream visibility, drawing millions of viewers and establishing SmackDown as one of the most-watched wrestling programmes on American television.
In 2026 SmackDown continues to air on the USA Network following its return from Fox, featuring a deep roster that includes United States and WWE Champions alongside mid-card feuds and ongoing developmental cross-over talent from NXT.
