Hikaru Shida return
Hikaru Shida making her return today was very, very pleasant. She has been gone for 500-something days from AEW. She is the one that everybody has a favorite match with.
Hurt Syndicate return
The Hurt Business were backstage and MVP noted that they are back in business and that they are in the market for new talent. Whoever joins the group is going to really benefit from this.
Darby Allin title hunt
Darby Allin was backstage and he said he needed to beat Andrade El Idolo so that he would get a title match against MJF and beat him. Every single week we are inching closer and closer to the possibility of Darby Allin going for that AEW World Championship.
Mike Santana NXT appearance
The last time I wrestled there was in 2019. And that was the last time my dad got to see me wrestle live before he passed away. So going back there was definitely emotional and dealing with that. But also validation. It was like, yo, now I made it back by myself and on my own, and as a world champion.
Hurt Syndicate recruitment
The first name that comes to mind for me is Brian Keith. You get a badass in Brian Keith. Getting him on with the Hurt Syndicate and really ascending him up there really puts a spotlight on Brian Keith.
AEW World Championship picture
I think right now where we're at, Ospreay [is the favorite to be world champion first], but there's a world where it could be Darby. I could see Darby contending at Double or Nothing and then Ospreay going for All In.
Steve Macklin injury/feud
I wish that things turned out differently with Macklin and I as far as our match because I felt like that was going to be like my first singles match after winning it back. It just sucked the whole situation. But I'm so glad that everything is good and everything was taken care of the way that it did.
Anthony Bowens performance
Anthony Bowens may have had his best singles match that I've ever seen from him. We never really got to see a pure, pure wrestling experience from Bowens until tonight.
Mentoring young talent
I'm excited to also be a part of their learning process and help share whatever knowledge that I can pass down to help them. I was always taught to pay it forward. I want there to be a business after me.
Championship mindset
I'm always striving to be better. I don't think whoever thinks that they know it all, they're not doing it right. I'm always constantly just trying to figure out ways of elevating and climbing.
